A Case of Giant Cell Tumor in Cervical Spine



Abstract
The authors present a rare case of giant cell tumor which was arisen on C5 cervical vertebra. A 28 year-old female patient was admitted due to posterior neck pain and radiating to both shoulder and arms. Plain cervical film showed osteolytic
lesion
on
C5 cervical vertebra and cervical spine MRI showed mass lesion on C5 cervical vertebra, which was expanded laterally and involved both vertebral arteries. The tumor was removed near totally and the space was fused by iliac bone graft with Casper
plate.
Giant cell tumor of the cervical vertebra was very rarely reported tumor which was less than 1% of all giant cell tumor. The authors discussed the clinical symptoms, radiological features and methods of treatment with literatures.
